Free Breast Self-Exam Instruction

Would you like to learn how to perform a breast self-exam? Washington Health offers free one-on-one instruction with a nurse educator.

Genetic Counseling, Testing & Risk Assessment

The Washington Cancer Genetics Program is a collaboration between Washington Health and UCSF Health. The program provides genetic counseling for individuals concerned about their risk of an inherited cancer predisposition.

Comprehensive Breast Cancer Care

If you have been diagnosed with breast cancer, our team brings together specialists from multiple areas of medicine to help determine the most appropriate treatment approach for you.

Breast Cancer Care Conference

A breast cancer diagnosis can be a stressful and overwhelming experience. The Washington Women's Center, in collaboration with your physician, offers the Breast Cancer Care Conference to provide education and support for you and your family.

The conference provides an opportunity to learn more about your diagnosis, treatment options, and what to expect during your breast cancer journey. It complements your regular physician visits and treatment.

Breast Tumor Board

Our Breast Tumor Board brings together specialists from different areas of breast cancer care to review cases and develop treatment recommendations using a multidisciplinary approach.

Specialists may include radiologists, pathologists, surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, primary care physicians, gynecologists, and plastic surgeons.

Breast Cancer Surgery

Some breast cancer treatment plans may include surgery. Our surgeons and plastic surgeons work together to provide surgical and reconstructive options based on your individual needs.

Reconstructive surgery may include a variety of procedures. Your care team will discuss your options and help you determine the approach that is right for you.

Radiation Therapy

The Radiation Oncology Center offers access to advanced radiation therapy for the treatment of breast cancer.

A nurse navigator helps you understand and coordinate your radiation treatment plan. Three-dimensional imaging of the tumor and surrounding tissue helps your radiation oncology team determine the appropriate dose and precisely target treatment while limiting exposure to surrounding healthy tissue.

Nurse Navigators—Caring For You

At Washington Health, nurse navigators meet with patients to help guide them and their family members through the breast cancer treatment journey. Whether answering some of the many initial questions, or offering resources for ride services, nurse navigators help patients feel less overwhelmed and more able to focus on the healing process.
