Breastfeeding and Lactation Support
Whether you’re preparing to breastfeed, learning to feed your baby in the hospital or looking for support after you go home, our lactation team is here to help.
Prenatal Breastfeeding Support
You can start preparing for breastfeeding before your baby arrives. Ask your obstetrician about available online breastfeeding courses and resources.
Breastfeeding Support During and After Your Hospital Stay
During your postpartum stay, our lactation consultants can provide personalized guidance and support to help you feel more comfortable and confident with breastfeeding.
After you go home, you can continue to get support through our free breastfeeding advice line or schedule a private visit with one of our internationally board-certified lactation consultants. Private visits are covered by most insurance plans.
To speak with a lactation consultant or schedule a private visit, call 510.818.5041. The advice line is available seven days a week until 5:30 p.m.
Breast Pump Rental
While you’re in the hospital, a hospital-grade breast pump is available for your use. If you need a breast pump after you go home, we can provide resources to help you find local breast pump rental services.
