How to Become a WH Volunteer
"Random Staffing" Volunteering
Random staffing is a one way to volunteer at Washington Health. We are always looking for new adult members who are looking for an opportunity to volunteer on the days and times that work best for you. With this new program, volunteers don't have to make a long term commitment to a set schedule. Now you can sign up online for the date and time that fits into your personal schedule. If you are interested in joining us, please attend the next Volunteer Information Session on the date and time listed below.
I am interested in volunteering! How do I get started?
Adults and college students are always invited to attend, but it is not a requirement to attend a Volunteer Information Session.
THE HIGH SCHOOL VOLUNTEER PROGRAM'S WAITING LIST FOR 2026 IS NOW OPEN AS OF MARCH 25,2026. Note that you will receive an email if you made the list, and volunteer opportunities are limited to need.
Instructions to join the Waiting List are:
- Student must be 16 years of age to be on the list. Verification will be required.
- Send email to: volunteer_services@washingtonhealth.com with the following information:
- Subject line to read potential Volunteer's name
- In the body of the email please add the following:
- Student Name
- Current grade at time of email and school name that student attends (IF YOU ARE IN YOUR SENIOR YEAR, please do NOT apply as the onboarding process is long. Please join our college volunteer program after you graduate in 2026
- Cell number
- Email address
Once the waiting list is at capacity, it will be closed. Then an invite for the Prospective Volunteer Information session will be sent depending on volunteer needs at Washington Health.
High School Volunteer Requirements:
- Must be 16 years of age or older to apply and have sophomore standing
- Must have an overall grade point average of "3.0"
- Must attend Prospective Volunteer Information Session. Proof of attendance is required to pick up a High School Application
- One-time non-refundable application fee of $20 charged at time of picking up the Volunteer Application Packet
- Students are required at least a one-year commitment in volunteering with Washington Health. No exceptions
- A minimum of 100 volunteer hours (not including training hours) within the year that you volunteer must be met before receiving an Exemplar Letter or validation of volunteer hours. No exceptions.
- Students are required to staff at least twice a month year round
