Emergency Care When You Need It

When you or a loved one experiences a serious injury or medical emergency, our team is here 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our emergency physicians, nurses with specialized training, and trauma specialists provide timely, expert care for adults and children with serious conditions, including traumatic injuries, heart attacks, strokes, infections, and other urgent illnesses.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the Emergency Department. Do not delay care for symptoms that may require immediate attention.

Comprehensive Trauma Care from a Team of Specialists

Serious injuries often require care from multiple medical and surgical specialists. Our trauma team works together across specialties to provide coordinated, comprehensive care from emergency evaluation and diagnosis through treatment and recovery.

Emergency Care for Children

Children receive emergency care from our team, with specialized pediatric support available when needed. Our Emergency Department achieved a 98/100 score on the National Pediatric Readiness Project survey, reflecting our commitment to pediatric emergency preparedness. Our nurses are certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and our physicians are board-certified in Emergency Medicine, including pediatric emergency care. When specialized pediatric care is needed, we consult with pediatric hospitalists affiliated with UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland and coordinate transfers for continued care and admission.
