What to Expect

Before surgery, you and your family will meet with members of your care team to discuss your procedure, answer questions, and prepare for what to expect. Cardiac surgeries are performed by our cardiothoracic surgeons in dedicated cardiovascular operating rooms, with support from specialized cardiac anesthesia teams and highly trained nursing staff. 

After surgery, you'll receive specialized care in our Cardiac Care Unit (CCU), where physicians, nurses, and rehabilitation professionals work together to help you heal and regain your strength. As your condition improves, you'll move to a modern private room designed to promote comfort and provide time with family and loved ones.

Cardiac Rehabilitation 

Recovery continues after you leave the hospital. Depending on your needs, your care team may recommend Washington Health's Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, where you'll receive personalized exercise guidance, education, and ongoing support to help you recover safely and reduce your risk of future heart problems.
