​Dr. Bogdan Eftimie, Co-Chair 

Dr. Bogdan Eftimie is a hematologist-oncologist who treats a wide range of solid tumors. Additionally, he treats most malignant blood cancers such as multiple myeloma, lymphoma and other chronic leukemias, as well as all benign blood conditions. Dr. Eftimie is the Medical Director of the joint medical oncology service of UCSF and Washington Health.

In his own practice, he has a passion for enhancing the doctor-patient relationship and strives to tailor his care to the individual, reduce stress and uncertainty, and provide open and honest communication. He received his medical degree from Loma Linda University, where he then completed a residency in internal medicine and was chief resident at the Veterans Affairs Loma Linda Healthcare System.

He completed a fellowship in hematology-oncology at the University of California, San Diego. A clinical associate at UCSF, Dr. Eftimie works closely with his colleagues at the different UCSF Departments and Divisions including Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology subspecialities, Gastrointestinal and Pulmonary advanced interventional experts, Pathology, Radiation Oncology, Bone Marrow transplantation program etc. Dr. Eftimie is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Society of Hematology and American Society of Clinical Oncology.
