Bio
Dr. Gendelberg is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in complex spine surgery and trauma. Based at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Washington Health, he treats a wide range of spine conditions, including spinal injuries, age-related conditions, spinal deformities, infections, and tumors.
Dr. Gendelberg uses minimally invasive techniques when appropriate and directs the orthopaedic trauma program at Washington Health. In addition to caring for patients, he is actively involved in research focused on improving treatment and access to care for underserved communities. His research interests include spinal injury treatment, access to care for underserved communities, minimally invasive techniques, and bone health.
Dr. Gendelberg earned his medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. He completed fellowships in spine surgery at the University of Washington-Harborview Medical Center and minimally invasive spine surgery under Dr. Neel Anand at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles.
