Bio
Harsh Agrawal, MD, is board-certified in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease, and internal medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Bharti VidyaPeeth Medical University, Pune, India. He started his internal medicine residency at West Penn Allegheny Health System at Temple University School of Medicine, Pittsburgh, PA, and completed it at Olive View Medical Center at UCLA. Subsequently, he pursued three fellowships: cardiovascular medicine fellowship at the University of Missouri, Columbia, MO; interventional cardiology fellowship at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, affiliated with Tufts University, Boston, MA; and structural fellowship at UCSF. Prior to joining Washington Hospital Healthcare System in 2021, Dr. Agrawal practiced at UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco. He now contributes his expertise to WTMF’s Cardiology care team as one of its providers.
Dr. Agrawal’s desire towards becoming a doctor were two-fold: observations of his native country’s shortcomings in healthcare and his familial history of practicing physicians. These factors reinforced his commitment to the medical profession. Recognizing the prevalence of cardiac conditions among adults, Dr. Agrawal chose to specialize in cardiology to provide targeted care in this area. Additionally, the field's pioneering advancements in minimally invasive surgeries further attracted him, offering new possibilities for patients previously deemed high-risk or inoperable.
Dr. Agrawal's care philosophy prioritizes his patients above all else, driven by his personal connection to the treatment they receive. His father's battle with heart disease has deeply influenced his perspective, cementing patient care as his top priority. With this commitment, he strives to improve the healthcare climate and enhance people's experiences.
In his free time, Dr. Agrawal enjoys hiking, soccer, reading medical journals, and teaching.
