National Recognition for Washington Health Orthopedic Surgeon

FREMONT, CA – Sept. 9, 2025 -- Alexander P. Sah, MD, co-medical director of the Institute for Joint Restoration and Research at Washington Health, is ranked No. 2 in the country for knee replacement surgery, and No. 21 for hip replacement surgery, according to a recent article in Newsweek.
The ranking recognizes America’s Leading Doctors 2025 and identifies the nation’s most respected specialists in knee and hip surgery. Dr. Sah is one of only a handful of surgeons in the country to be ranked in the Top 30 for both categories.
Certified by the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons, Dr. Sah’s practice is Sah Orthopaedic Associates located in Fremont, CA. The practice is among the highest volume hip and knee replacement surgery practices in Northern California. Dr. Sah is passionate about high-tech and high-touch care, offering the most advanced robotic- and AI-assisted joint surgery, in an individualized and compassionate way.

Dr. Sah completed fellowship at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, in adult reconstructive orthopedic surgery; residency at Harvard Medical School, Cambridge, Massachusetts, in orthopedics; and internship at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. He earned his medical degree at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia. He was born at Washington Hospital in Fremont.
