Washington Health Urgent Care Now Open

Washington Health Urgent Care Now Open

A new Washington Health Urgent Care center opened in Fremont on Dec. 17, bringing walk-in treatment for a wide range of common health concerns, including minor injuries like cuts and sprains, and illnesses like colds and flu. Unlike an emergency department, the Urgent Care center is designed for conditions that require prompt attention but are not life-threatening, helping reduce wait times and medical costs for patients. Now, Urgent Care patients of all ages have access to board certified-doctors seven days a week for extended daily hours.

“We are pleased to open our new Washington Health Urgent Care center as a direct response to the community’s need for timely treatment of nonemergency medical conditions,” said Kimberly Hartz, Washington Health CEO. “Health care access and delivery was the third most critical concern of Washington Township Health Care District residents in our 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment.”

This modern, state-of-the-art facility is located near Walgreens at 2682 Mowry Ave. The new center is 3,644 square feet and is equipped with five exam rooms, a procedure room, on-site X-ray, and laboratory.

Benefits of Urgent Care

Washington Health’s new Urgent Care will address immediate health needs of patients who may not have easy access to primary care, and it offers a convenient solution during times when regular doctors’ offices are closed. The center accepts most insurance plans, and it can be a more affordable solution, since urgent care co-payments are usually less than that of an emergency department.

Patients benefit from the convenience of Urgent Care walk-in visits or same-day appointments, which also eases pressure on local emergency departments. Expanding access to urgent care in Fremont will help improve overall community health outcomes by providing timely treatment for everyday medical issues that arise for local residents.

Responding to Community Health Needs

Washington Health conducts a comprehensive Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) every three years to identify the most critical physical and mental health issues facing district residents. The health system responds to these needs with a resulting Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) that outlines planned health services, programs, and education to improve the health of the community. Results of the 2025 CHNA illustrate the need for local urgent care services. To access a copy of Washington Health’s recent CHNA and CHIP, go to WashingtonHealth.com/CHNA.

“Our new Urgent Care center offers fast, quality medical attention when it is needed most. And if a higher level of care is required, patients have access to the health system’s wide range of advanced treatment and top-tier medical care, near their work and homes,” Hartz added.
